Real Love Conference

By 9th grade 1/3 of hs students have engaged in sexual activity and by 12th 2/3.
60% overall and 67% among younger adolescent, regret their 1st EXPERIENCE & wish they had waited longer.

Hard hitting facts yet TRUTH. And TRUTH it was that was heard and spoken today at the Parents Only breakout.

I encouraged and exhorted Parents today at Christ Lutheran Church "Real Love" Conference. They heard the WHY & HOW for sexual purity especially in this day and age when 'everywhere' we are bombarded with sexual explicit material. Everyday bombarded also with 'peer pressure' and 'conforming to a standard' that is not God's.

FACT: Parents are the ones who have the most influence on their children's decisions about sex.

Several parents shared how this has influenced them in how to communicate 'straight forward' and 'real'.

I love it when I prayed at the end a parent stood up and started praying for me!
Ah, that was awesome!

I'm telling ya... we connected. It was sweet! Brandon & I are booked for next year!

How to talk. Answers to tough questions. Skills your son or daughter needs. Healthy relationships. Pregnancy. Choices. Risky behaviors. God's best.

I met you on Sat @ Real Love. The time we spent with you was so encouraging. I am a widow with 3 kids and walking a pure lifestyle and praying the same for my children. When you used the birth to death scale it so clearly shown the time we have to impact and inform our kids. Please stay in contact for future events. I found out that you did a retreat for our youth group with Eric and Amy Spry from Calvary Chapel Scottsdale a few years back. Do you remember? I was also wondering if you have contact info for Brandon Kagel. The Holy Spirit really spoke to my struggling sons heart through Brandon and I wanted to contact him.

Grace to you!

Challenging youth to wait until they are an adult is one thing. Scaring the heck out of them, and telling them a condom is a provision for sin is irresponsible. Did you know the Lovers in the Song of Solomon have sex in Chapter 2, but don't get married until Chapter 3? The kind of ignorance Church leaders have about this sort of in-your-face premarital sex in the Bible has gone on too long. If you want to know more, go to my website. It's cheaper than a Purity Ring and a lot more fun than abstinence.
